August Prayer Letter

Aside from the sweltering heat, I hope you are enjoying your summer! What a wonderful first month I have had with World Impact Dallas. I have certainly hit the ground running and I am enjoying every minute of it! Getting to know the missionaries and their ministries, spending time with church groups, and networking with established and new ministry partners has kept me busy.

One highlight of my month has been seeing the World Impact staff in action. We had a great group of interns from all over the nation. Over the summer they volunteered at a homeless shelter, went with our youth and children to camps, and went on many prayer walks with our full-time missionaries. Below is a picture of our interns and missionaries praying with people from south Dallas. We thank God for their giving hearts and passion for the Kingdom!

As we gear up for our Fall semester, please join me in prayer for the following:Community praying

  • Pray that our missionaries take some time to rest and rejuvenate.
  • Pray for my financial support and that God provides more avenues for me to share the vision and work of World Impact.
  • Pray for our English speaking church plant, Hope Fellowship, as they continue to seek God's leading entering into their soft launch phase on August 28, 2011.
  • Pray that God will provide a woman to join our staff that has a heart for ministering to young ladies in South Dallas. We have a huge need but I trust that the Lord will send us the perfect woman in His timing.

Thank you again for your prayerful and financial support. I couldn't do this work without you.

In Him,

Lacey Arteaga

Prayer Walks

This Monday at our weekly staff meeting my Director shared a picture taken of some of our staff over the week on one of their prayer walks.

I don't know if you have ever had one of those moments when you just have to stop.

You are speechless.

That was me. There was something about this picture that struck my heart and made me stop to thank God.

I thank God that I am surrounded by missionaries and our interns that have a heart for the Lord. They walk around the community to talk with people, pray with people and build relationships. I see our staff's hearts as they pour themselves into the people of south Dallas.

My hope is that through this blog you can come along side of me and my new ministry at World Impact Dallas.

More to come :)
